The World's Columbian Exposition

The World's Columbian Exposition opened on May 1, 1893 and consisted of more than 250,000 exhibits, including the newest inventions like the Ferris wheel. The Exposition was built in Chicago by Daniel Burnham to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the discovery of America. About 25,836,100 people attended the Exposition, which spanned over 600 acres. Forty-six nations participated, which attracted people from many different countries. (Historical)
