The Intertwining of H. H. Holmes and
the World's Columbian Exposition

_Holmes took advantage of the World's Columbian Exposition in many ways. Holmes never ran out of victims thanks to the influx of population. The Exposition also caused a disruption in Chicago as inspectors were too distracted with crowd control to check buildings. Holmes built the murder castle without anyone noticing the building's devious layout. There was little communication, so it took months for people to realize their loved ones had vanished. (Bio)
