Early Life

"Had my early life and associations been such as to predispose me towards such criminal proceedings, still the want of motive remains. I can show that no motive exists."
H. H. Holmes
As a child, Holmes was very smart and acted like an adult. Holmes was bullied during elementary school and forced into a pharmacy to look at a skeleton. This may have started his curiosity about death. By 11, Holmes would find animals and disable them without killing them (Bio). Holmes later attended the University of Michigan Medical School, which specialized in dissection using stolen cadavers. Holmes excelled at this ghoulish homework (Depraved).
